The FAO's Regional Representative presented the organization's vision for the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026. Declared by the UN, this initiative recognizes women's fundamental contribution to agrifood systems and aims to end persistent inequalities in access to resources, opportunities, and decision-making.

The Year of the Woman Farmer 2026 is a call for collective action to boost investments, strengthen rural women's livelihoods, and promote their leadership. Empowering women transforms agrifood systems, enhancing well-being, productivity, climate resilience, and accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
