The FAO outlines its vision for the UN-proclaimed International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026. This initiative aims to recognize women's fundamental contributions to agrifood systems and address persistent inequalities that limit their access to resources, opportunities, and decision-making.

The Year is a global call to action to increase investment, strengthen rural women's livelihoods, and promote their leadership. Empowering women improves well-being, boosts productivity, strengthens climate resilience, and accelerates progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
