Jasmyne Cannick: The Case of Ed Buck

Join us for an exclusive talk with journalist and political strategist Jasmyne Cannick. Following wealthy socialite Ed Buck's conviction for crimes including the deaths of Gemmel Moore and Timothy Dean, Cannick stated, "Ed Buck is going to pay for the crimes he committed...to an entire community of Black men here." This event is presented by The Commonwealth Club of California, the nation's oldest and largest public affairs forum, established in 1903.

How a price on carbon works

Carbon pricing offers a rapid solution to reduce America's carbon pollution, aiming for a 50% decrease by the decade's end. This system involves a carbon tax on fossil fuel companies, which drives the economy towards clean energy adoption.

To ensure affordability, a carbon cashback or dividend mechanism is implemented. This makes the transition economically feasible for individuals and small businesses alike.
