Carbon Pricing: Let's Get Back to Work, America.

Climate change poses a significant challenge, but also a substantial opportunity for America to create millions of stable, well-paying jobs.

A price on carbon would drive technological innovation, transforming our economy and generating new jobs nationwide. This approach would establish the U.S. as a clean energy leader, reducing carbon pollution by 50% by 2030.

Recycling Won't Save The Planet

Recycling alone cannot save the planet. While beneficial, it often functions as a form of greenwashing, diverting attention from the deeper industrial issues and unsustainable consumption patterns that drive environmental degradation.

Achieving true sustainability requires more than just managing materials. It demands systemic change, critically evaluating green technology, and challenging the limitations of the current circular economy model to address the root causes of our ecological crises.

CCL's Legislative Coordinator, Morgan McCue, provides a legislative update on the new "Save Our Future Act." Introduced on June 16 by Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Brian Schatz, this landmark carbon pricing policy is similar to the 2019 American Opportunity Carbon Fee Act.

The legislation sets an ambitious carbon price to reduce U.S. emissions. It also addresses environmental justice, invests in coal communities for a clean energy transition, and protects American households with regular rebates and funding for further reductions.

Carbon Offsets: The Big Lie | David Detzler | TEDxHayesStreet

David Detzler, a degreed chemist and 45-year automotive veteran, offers an insider's view on climate change. He argues that carbon offsets are ineffective and that the only real solution is to end our addiction to fossil fuels. A National Merit Scholar, Detzler conducted research alongside doctoral students at age 20, identifying the dangers of 2-4-dichlorophenoxyacetic, later known as Agent Orange.

At Chrysler Automotive, Detzler served as a materials engineer and senior manager. He pioneered advancements in coatings, notably introducing environmentally safe powder coating to the American automotive market.

Today, Detzler continues to advocate for greener manufacturing methods and materials within the automotive industry. This talk was presented at a TEDx event. Learn more at ted.com/tedx.
