What Happens to Recycled Clothes?

Recycling old clothes often isn't the sustainable choice it appears. Investigations reveal many "recycled" garments are transported globally, ending up in landfills and polluting communities.

Journalists, using tracking devices, found clothes from recycling bins accumulating in dumps worldwide. In Moldova, a second-hand shop owner discards 45% of donations, while a local landfill manager reported 50 meters of buried textile waste.
